Oregon State University Steel Bridge

It has been 13 years since Oregon State University's Steel Bridge Team has qualified for the national competition.  On Wednesday, April 30th, 2014, Oregon State University was announced 1st place overall winners of the 2014 Pacific Northwest Student ASCE Conference and will be traveling to Akron, Ohio to compete in nationals from May 23rd-24th.  This is a very prestigious achievement, not only to earn acceptance to nationals, but to place 1st overall.

The regional competition breakdown can be seen below:
1st - Overall
1st - Aesthetics
1st - Construction Speed
2nd - Structural Economy
2nd - Structural Efficiency
3rd - Lightness
4th - Stiffness

The opportunity to compete on the national stage is not only a great honor for the College of Civil and Construction Engineering, but it reflects the efforts put forth by the students.  In order for the students to be able to experience this opportunity, $5,500 needs to be raised.  This opportunity will be a big help in sending our students to nationals and preparing/supporting them for future successes.
