Photography Equipment Replacement

Donation protected
Hi there and thanks for visiting. My name is Bill Hoenk and I am a professional freelance photographer.

Those two cameras and lenses you see around my neck were stolen from my car a few nights ago along with a multitude of other lenses and accesories. My window was smashed in while parked in downtown Boston for a brief period and my camera bag  was taken.

It is very hard for me to ask for help, but with the encouragement of colleagues and friends, I have decided to create this fund-raising page to try and recoup some of my devastating loss. I have covered, and will continue to cover every channel I can to try to find the items on my own as I have little faith the BPD will produce any results. I am monitering Craigslist and Ebay, I have signed up for Camera Trace and Stolen Camera Finder, and I am visiting pawn shops across the city.

Over $7000 worth of equipment was stolen, $3000 of which was equipment I rented from borrowlenses.com to specifically cover the 2014 Boston Marathon. While I am not expecting by any means to reach my goal, every little bit does help. Any donations I receive will go toward paying back the rental company, and if by a miracle I surpass the $3000 mark, anything else will go towards replacing the photography arsenal I've spent the past decade building. No, I did not have insurance on my gear, and yes, this is the harshest lesson I've ever learned (aside from not backing up my work before my hard drive crashed a couple of years ago).

You are more than welcome to visit my website Bill Hoenk Photography to view my work and see what you will be helping me to achieve again!

You might recognize some of my photos from my coverage of the 2013 and 2014 Boston Marathons, and my blog was featured in a two part series on PetaPixel the day after this years marathon, if you're interested in learning more about my experience witnessing the explosions from that fateful day last year, you can read about it here:

Again, thank you for taking the time to visit this page, if you are able to make a donation, that is amazing and I will be forever grateful for your kindness. Even though I am trying to raise money to replace my stolen items, I would like to be able to give something back. If you pick one of the reward levels, you are welcome to choose from any of the photos on my website.
