Rites Of Passage Trip to Ghana

Donation protected
This summer fifteen young women have the opportunity to experience a life-changing trip to Ghana through Rites of Passage and Empowerment Program (ROPE) a Pittsfield based mentoring organization for adolescent girls. The trip organized in collaboration with the Pittsfield School Department and Berkshire Art and Technology Charter Public School (BART), will provide ROPE participants the opportunity to spend time with students from Ghana and tour educational sites such as the W.E.B. Dubois Center, Cape Coast Slave Castle, University Of Ghana, Legon, and Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.

ROPE was founded by a group of professional women in 2010 under the auspices of Youth Alive, a unique resource in Pittsfield serving multicultural youth, ages 7-18 for nearly 20 years. ROPE is designed to support middle and high school girls in finding their inner voice and to assist their transition into womanhood as mature, resilient young women with valuable life skills.

We know this summer's incredible, 10-day trip to Ghana will open up another new world that most girls have only dreamed of. To make this happen, ROPE is seeking sponsors to help underwrite the cost. We hope that you will give from your heart to help us change the lives of these fifteen girls.
