Mom's Medical Bills

My mom, Patricia Spencer, is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. While she already had older children to care for, she adopted me and my autistic brother as a single mom. She is 60 years old and living on disability, but while I am away at college she is still taking care of him and anyone else who comes to her for help.

Now she's needs a little help herself. Since she has very little money she has been putting off doctor visits, but she couldn't wait any longer. She told me that the doctors have said she has cataracts in both of her eyes and she needs a endoscopy to check for cancer. While Medicare will take care of most of the bills, the last 20% has to be covered by her. She needs $1800 by May 20th to pay for her endoscopy and eye surgery. If she doesn't get help soon, the doctors said that she will be completely blind in five years.
