Michael's homegoing service was beautiful. It was truly spiritual, inspirational, and moving. We miss you Mike, but your life was not in vain.
Thank you all very much! Please, no more donations but we may all later on support for a scholarship in his honor. We want to be good stewards of your donation and apply it to his funeral and memorial expenses. Today was a good day! A candlelight vigil was held today in Michael's honor by his peers. The words, the love, the legacy, forever will be etched in our souls. Tomorrow is going to be difficult, so please pray for us and our scholars tomorrow as we lay him to rest. You all have been amazing! Those of you that know Michael personally, you know God has a star angel, and for those of you who didn't know him (but was touched by his life, his love, his awesomeness), we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We truly could not have done this without you!

On behalf of the Edmondson-Westside Family, I would like to thank everyone for their donations. We reached almost 74% of our goal of $7000. It would have been truly amazing to accomplish our goal for such an amazing young man. EWHS and Michael's family are forever grateful for all that you done! Some of you were not in a position to donate, but you posted the website on your page, requested help from your friends and family and offered prayer and support! I would like to personally thank the EWHS staff for their tireless efforts in encouraging everyone to support our fallen angel and for monitoring this site cheering as we climbed to reach our goal. Thank you, Felicia.

We are close to 30% Thank You so much... Let's keep the love coming. There's only one thing worst than having the pain of losing a love one and that's losing them to senseless violence and having the burden and worry of trying to bury them with dignity. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. He was such an awesome child and now an Angel. Happy Easter to all!!!!
We are at 24% lagging a tad behind of the 6pm goal of 30%. We are now at the Candlelight Vigil honoring your memory and bringing awareness to the senseless killings. Please consider donating and continue to pray for our strength. God Bless all that have donated. Thank You Again...
We are at 21% only 79% to go! We are trying Michael to give you the home-going you deserved. We are not sue why you left us so soon with your whole life ahead of you. We are trusting God. We're hoping to reach 30% by 6pm. Tonight Michael we will host a candlelight Vigil in your honor. We want to make certain to bring awareness so it may save another "Michael, Troy, Henry, Ben, Justin etc." Rest In Peace My Scholar Athletic and Musician.
As we celebrate the rebirth of our King, please continue to give. Thank You & God Bless You...
We are so happy with the outpouring love for our Now Angel. We miss you
I am a Social Worker at a Baltimore City Public School. I just talked with Michael Mayfield, one of our former students the night before he was killed. The only trouble this young man had according to family was keeping his room cleaned! He just attended his military ball on Friday, April 11, 2014. He was a member of JROTC, band, student government, peer mediation and he LOVED baseball. He was accepted into college and was preparing for graduation in May. This young man was only 17 years old and was murdered on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. This case is believed by ALL to be a mistaken identity. Michael was a peaceful young man. As I stated, he was a peer mediator at the school and was good at helping to bring peaceful resolutions to situations. Our community is devastated! Michael lost his mother about four years ago and was being raised by his sister. The family is asking for support. They would like to lay Michael to rest and provide him with a good burial. Please help the family reach their goal of $10,000 for funeral expenses. If you had a chance to know Michael, you would have loved him. Thank you all so very much for your assistance, Felicia.
