Lucy's ACL Surgery

My poor, sweet rotty Lucy just cannot catch a break: Just last year, Lucy suffered a spinal stroke which left both of her back legs paralyzed. After many visits to both mine and specialized vets, the best option for treatment was unfortunately to leave Lucy for more than four weeks at what turned out to be a fantastic animal rehab center called Theravet. The wonderful staff at Theravet helped Lucy to regain complete use of her rear left leg, and partial use of her rear right. Being only four, these were exceptional results for Lucy, who still has a lot of life left in her! I am completely satisfied with the service and crew at Theravet, but Lucy's rehabilitation were understandably incredibly expensive, and it has taken a serious toll on my finances. I have no regrets: Lucy is my family and her health is of paramount importance to me.
As if that experience weren't enough, while playing in the yard last week, Lucy gave a sharp yelp and began limping. I thought she had simply over-exerted herself and over-taxed her good leg. When things did not improve though, I took her once again to the emergency vet who determined that she had ruptured a ligament in her remaining healty rear leg: in short, she had torn her good acl.
I explored all my options with various vets, and the only clear choice is a pricey surgery. Because Lucy damaged the ACL in the leg on which she strongly relies, her mobility in severely limited in her current condition.
It is only in my desperation to provide Lucy with the medical care she deserves that I would ask for help. After seeing other pet owners in similar circumstances find aid in such a great community, I thought to try the same. Lucy is a happy and boisterous dog whose active and lively lifestyle has been hampered for too long but these unrelenting medical catastrophes. I seek enough funding to give Lucy the long, healthy, and happy life she deserves. Every dollar will help, and should there be any extra, they will be immediately donated to Nuts for Muts: a wonderful organization that fosters and places thousands of lonely dogs into loving homes.
