iPads For Two Adult Brothers/Severe MS

My wife and I have dear friends, two brothers and their mother (Terri) who live in our community, Modesto, CA. The brothers, Juan and Miguel both have Primary Progressive MS. Their story was featured in our local newspaper at Christmas 2013:

The article explains their circumstances very well. I'm sure that you will be as moved as my wife and I are. Both young men are loving, gentle spirits. They spend their days side-by-side in hospital beds located in their rented family home.
They have little to keep them entertained and occupied besides TV. Juan has a very old PC that is heavy and he is unable to lift it on his own. He is only able to watch dvd movies on it. Miguel does not have a computer, but shared with us that he'd love to learn the music program GarageBand, with which he can record and make music all day long! Juan is also very interested in GarageBand as he could push the buttons to "play" guitar - a dream of his - he has limited use of his hands. I often play guitar to entertain them and they joyfully sing along. With an iPad, they can PLAY ALONG!!!!!!
As you may know, the iPad has a word processing program, Pages, allows users to turn verbal commands into type!! The iPad is a gem of a tech tool and would offer hours and hours of entertainment, education and companionship for Juan and Miguel. Miguel could even start writing poetry again because of the voice to text option.
The social networking aspect alone will bring hope and encouragement to two wonderful individuals who ask for so little. Sadly, they have little else as travel is not possible. This would open up the world to them.
We are humbly requesting any donation to provide an iPad air 32 GB with AppleCare and cases for each of them. These computers would be life changing for them. The total of approximately $1660 is our goal. Thank you very much for your consideration and generosity! And hey . . . check out the video below!
