Rescue cockatiel from the pet store

Help with the cost of this poor bird and a real vet.

 About 3 weeks ago I saw this poor birdie
He has almost no nostrils and is missing some feathers.

The 1st time I saw the bird the manager said there had been no vet visits and they are spaying him with something.
The manager said they received him in worse condition and he is healing.

I call BS as some else I know said they saw him a few weeks before with at least one good nostril he now has none.

They said was he is so nervous from dogs and other events at the store he keeps hitting the glass. The manager said they could not cover the bird or relocate it due to Corporate  policies I argued that the birds health should be 1st as he is in a very bad state.

At some point the manager said I should buy the bird if I care that much.
Do stores like this prey on people that care a lot to buy these sad little birds as rescue pets?

 

After all of this I did some more research and called the local animal humane department  They opened an investigation.  At some point the store agreed to have a vet look at the bird. Based on this vets opinion the bird is ok and healthy and needed no further care.   That satisfied the humane depts concerns

 I have some serious doubts about this vet as it seems he had the pet stores interest as his main priority vs the birds health.

Truthfully I feel the humane department is too busy and does not really care as communication was very spotty and basic at best.

I just visited the bird again add it seems as he is getting worse.  For some sad reason the manager seems happy with his so called recovery

Based on all this if this little bird has a chance he is going to need to be bought and taken away from this store and to a caring vet ASAP.

I hope gofundme.com can help me raise the needed money for the cost of the bird and the much needed vet bills.  It is a tough situation buying the bird lets the store
win but the bird losses staying there. I plan to take this guy in as a rescue tiel and at some point maybe let some I trust adopt him when he is all better.

I currently have 4 cockatiels already, so I have plenty of experience with these cool little creatures. One of which was a rescue tiel.
