Help Mounds View SciOly go to Nationals!

Dear Friends/Family,

Science Olympiad is the largest and most competitive team science competition in the U.S., in which teams compete in 23 events such as Astronomy, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry Lab, Elastic Launched Glider, and Water Quality. On March 9, 2014, Mounds View Science Olympiad placed first in the state tournament, and will be representing Minnesota at the National Tournament in Orlando, Florida, on May 15-19. We appreciate any help we can get to fund our trip.

Our entire team consists of 80 members, but because of the limited space, we are only able to bring 15 competitors, along with 10 alternates, to the national tournament. The enthusiasm and spirit we have for Science Olympiad is apparent in the way we have bonded and how Science Olympiad has become a large part of our lives. We have dedicated time and energy to become better at our events. Most people spend more than 20 hours a week studying for events, meeting with partners, improving building events, and spending time in the lab to better prepare themselves for competitions. Our love for science has only grown throughout our years on the team.

Though we are thrilled about the opportunity to compete at Nationals, the high price tag is a challenge for many of us, as transportation, lodging, and supplies are included in the expenses. With your support, we will be able to compete in the Science Olympiad National Tournament and have the experience of a lifetime.

Sincerely,

Mounds View Science Olympiad
