Hello, My name is Daren Eason. I live in Stone Mountain GA and am a 42 year old devoted Husband for 21 years to my beautiful wife Kathleen, a proud Father of 4 awesome sons (Daren II (25), Trenton (22), Donovan (21) and Dakota (19) and Grandfather of 3 Beautiful Granddaughters EmmaLee Jessica Eason, Charlie LeiLani Eason (2) and the youngest Autumn Raine Eason (1). I am an Application Engineer at Cox Communications, Inc. and have been in IT for 23 years now. Up until 2 months ago I had it made. I had a great job with a ton of job security, I was healthy and was looking great for a promotion this year. That was then - a lot can change in that time. Last year I had developed a type of fungal lung infection called Aspergillosis (Aspergillus is a very common type of mold here in Georgia). That turned in to what is called an Aspergilloma - which is a mass but generally benign. I was out of work between September of 2013 and January 2014 recovering from that. Once I returned to work on Jan 2, 2014 everything seemed fine - i was breathing great, the IDS doctor said everything sounded great and I never felt better. About 6 weeks later I started feeling a little more tired than usual again. Around that time I started vomiting every morning (a sign originally that I had this infection) so I went to get it checked out. The doctor assumed the Aspergillosis was getting worse. They scheduled me for a surgery called a Lobectomy to remove the top portion of my right lung which would remove the mass along with it. I was sent for normal pre-surgery CT's and X-rays. The next morning I was called by the Doctor himself to tell me that something "concerning" showed up on my CT and I needed to have a followup MRI the next morning ,then I would get admitted to the hospital for next steps. Well, it turned out that the "concerning" image was a tumor on my liver. I was sent in for a biopsy and some angioplasty to free up some blood vessels that were being constrained via mySuperior Vena Cava- originally thought to be from the Aspergilloma. Well the CT did not only show a tumor in the liver, it also showed one in my Lung. At the time those were the only 2 and the biopsy came back as "Adeno Carcinoma" - this is the most common Lung Cancer in non-smokers, Women and anyone under 45 - that was 6 weeks ago. About 3 weeks ago I was told it had spread to my spine. I am barely able to walk 3 steps on my own and everytime I stand up my leg gets numb from the hip down and I get that "sleepy" tingling in my left Hip. This is from the tumor in my spine getting bigger. Unfortunately this is non-operable, not even to expand the bone cavities to allow for growth without restriction. They did try a full dose of radiation which failed. At the moment it is a "wait and see" if the Chemo takes care of it situation. I am not sure how that is going to work out as my first round of Chemo put me in the ICU for 4 days (the first night there in ICU I was told my Father passed away the same time I was getting settled in my room). Something happened during the Radiation that had caused me to become impotent. There was a lot of pain in "that area" and it kept getting worse. It was extremely hard to pass urine and it was getting painful too. Eventually I lost the ability to go alltogether which is why I went to the ER in the first place. It was a good thing I went because I ended up having to have a blood transfusion (my Hemaglobin was 6.1 and my Red Cell Count was only 35 percent). My prognosis is 7 months. At the rate the tumor in my spine is growing full paralysis below the waist is a very real possibilty. I feel I am getting worse daily - though some days I feel strong. Lately the stress has been less about the disease and more about the Finances of it all. We have some help on the way in the form of SSDI and such but waiting on that is TERRIBLE. I had Short Term Disability at work but that was used up last year on the Aspergillosis. So basically I have about 6 months until the SSDI and my Long Term Disability from work kicks in. We are seeking ANY help you may be able to give to help with the bills that are piling up daily. I need to be able to go back to focusing on getting better and my poor wife who is being run RAGGED through all of this (though she is my rock and I would be nowhere without her - it is because of her I fight so hard and stay so positive). She really needs to have some peace of mind. I am and have been the sole breadwinner for our family because we decided that she would raise the kids (and she did with dignity and grace) but now she is left without work skills as well as having a disabitily of her own which she fights through EVERY day to be all of this to me. I know there are so many scams out there but I hope enough people on Facebook can vouch for me. Thank you for taking the time to read through this. If you are unable to help financially we ALWAYS welcome prayers, inspirational messages or just simple Hello's on Facebbok :)God bless you one and allThe Eason FamilyThank you VERY MUCH to Cory Rudd, the Soldier, Father, Husband and DAMN GOOD FRIEND who started this for me.
