Help Me Get To Ghana!

Hello everyone! My name is Anna Robinson and I am a freshman at Muhlenberg College. I am raising money to fund my 3 week trip to Ajumako, Ghana this summer. In Ghana I will be volunteering at the Heritage Academy and teaching 6-9th graders in a subject of my choice and assisting them with reading skills. The Heritage Academy is a private school in Ghana that aims to give children in Ghana a progressive education. The school's goal is to not just have children pass national exams, but be able to think critically and give them a foundation to be successful in the rest of their lives. There are several aspects of the school that make it unique which include girl empowerment, an education with alternative subjects and a no corporal punishment policy.  The school's motto which sums up their values very well is "knowledge and integrity."  You can learn more about the school here.
I made it a goal of mine to make the most out of my 4 years at Muhlenberg College and to impact others positively whenever possible and I believe that this trip is bringing me towards this goal. It is a goal of mine to positively impact others because I believe that in life that is how you are remembered, by the way you made people feel. I know that the kids I meet in Ghana will change and impact me profoundly and I aspire to reciprocate this feeling to them.  Any donations made will go to funding my airfare, food, housing and transporation while in Ghana.  Any and every donation counts.  Thank you for helping me reach my goal!
