One day in the middle of tenth grade, I arrive home a little early from school, just in time to find my 3 year old black labrador being bundled into the car to be taken to a "farm".
I said goodbye to her and went numb.
When I met Maizey I promised I'd never let her go.
She has taught me to love and be loved. She (along with our lovely friends), has helped me come out of being numb.
Being with her has radically changed my experience of life.
Yesterday Maizey had a $6000 spine operation.
She is doing well.
I don't have the funds.
(Update! One of my longtime massage clients paid a portion of the bill, now we only owe $5000!!)
