I've been cosplaying since I was about 15, and ten years later I'm still at it. I love to sew and draw, and the hobbled together messes I make are fun to wear and romp around in, and I love being able to do it. A-Kon is one of the cons I've been going to the longest, and I've made it nearly every year for over 7 years now. however, this year has been rather tough, especially for stuff like cosplay and cons.

since the beginning of this year, there has been a death in the family, multiple stresses from school, health problems, a lack of jobs for myself and my immediate family, and the slow horrendous process of graduating and transferring schools. due to this, I haven't been able to find a job or raise money easily towards my usual con trips. I managed to scrouge up enough money for Anime Matsuri, but that was the last of my reserves, and after how disappointing it was, I feel rather foolish for spending that money in the first place.
I need to raise around $200-$250+ to be able to afford A-Kon this year. this will cover my airfare (half of which I can pay for with airline points), my hotel room, my con badge, and some money for food (which is important, as I have multiple dietary restrictions due to health problems, so I can't just stock up on ramen noodles, unfortuanely). FOR THE AIRFARE - I am running on a deadline for raising money for airfare. I need at least $100 to pay for my flight back from Dallas by April 7th, 2014. thank you!
while I'm not expecting a giant influx of money, I do very dearly want to go to this con and see my friends - most of whom live in Texas. since I live in Kansas City, getting to see them, let alone attending cons in the area, is expensive and a long trip I feel blessed to make every time I do. I hope to make that trip again this year, if possible!
for these donations, I'm offering art in return! these drawings may be a bit slow going, as I have a giant class schedule at the moment that needs my full attention. but, as soon as I'm able to, I'm going to crank out these drawings for everyone who donates from $5 on up, and I'll send them to you via email, FaceBook, Tumblr, or wherever else you'd like! (If you'd like a physical copy, we can set up mailing as well, for which you'd need to pay shipping, orz.) if you donate, please let me know what you'd like - be it different from the donation level, what characters, or where you would like it sent to - and I'll get on it asap. for anything over $150, I'll send you a small gift as well in thank you! if you decide to have things mailed to you, please send me your address in an email or something simliar.
