Black Sheep Marines-World Championships

The Black Sheep Marines are requesting your help in supporting our team and helping us be successful at the World Club Crew Championships in Ravenna, Italy this fall. 

We are a Senior Dragon Boat racing team based out of the Villages, Florida.  Formed less than two years ago, we have quickly become one of the top senior dragon boat racing teams in the country.

Competing throughout the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States as well as in Canada, the team has won multiple medals and cups, including first place in the Senior Mixed Division at the Central Florida Dragon Boat Races, second place in the Senior Mixed B Division (50+) at the USDBF National Dragon Boat Championships, and first place in the Senior C (60+) Division at the Southeast Regional Dragon Boat Championships, earning an invitation to compete for a World Championship at the 2014 Club Crew World Championships to be held in Ravenna, Italy in September, 2014.

Competing at this level requires a significant amount of commitment and funding.  We train hard for our sport, practicing on the water three days a week, and participating in a vigorous exercise program outside the boat.  While dues are levied on team members (with almost 15% of monthly dues going to charities supported by the team, such as Operation Helping Hand and the James A Haley hospital in Tampa, FL), additional funds from sponsors, from friends and supporters are often needed to defray costs, especially for this 'once in a lifetime' challenge in Ravenna.

We are asking for any help you would be willing to give our team in this undertaking.  Our goal is the achieve what many have tried to tell us is "unachievable"!
