I had a lovely visit with Dad yesterday. We had chocolate milkshakes, bacon cheeseburgers, and waffles fries. It was way too much food, even after ordering off the kids menu. We are having salads next time for sure!!
We had a nice laid back visit and then I helped him do some housekeeping and gardening (I watered his hanging flower basket and refilled the bird feeder.)
It was a lovely warm afternoon, but Dad is lucky to have a room that is shaded and stays nice and cool.
We are looking forward to next week and his first Ortho appt since his surgery. We are all anxious to move forward with his physical therapy.
Dad is doing well but is looking forward to getting out and getting on.
We all are. We have to be.
Thank you for all of your continued support. We love you all and are tremendously grateful.
Wow, we are speechless at the continued show of support! Thank you all so much for all of the donations and well wishes. Dad is recovering and we are all spending as much time with him as possible. Yesterday we surprised him with a new bird feeder and a hanging flower basket that we set up outside his window. It didn't take long for the goldfinches to find it!
We had a great visit with Dad today. We were treated to a catered lunch provided by Dad's good friends Mike and Sharon (owners of Bodacious BBQ). We enjoyed some delicious pulled pork and baked potatoes and even got sent home with leftovers! Can you believe Asher ate an entire baked potato?!
We are so grateful to each and every member of our expanding support network. It is because of you that we remain OSO STRONG.
So, Brittany and I got to meet with President Obama yesterday. Dad was unable to attend due to his injuries. I was able to give Obama a picture of my parents and he agreed to call my Dad personally. That really meant a lot to all of us.
Before I headed back to my home in Lynden, I had the pleasure of eating dinner with Dad: bacon cheeseburgers with fries and chocolate shakes (YUM!) and later got to visit with Blue.
Dad and Blue are doing well, just taking it one day at a time. Staying strong and moving forward; it's about all we can do right now.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers, cards and donations. We are forever grateful.
We got to visit with Dad this weekend. He is getting lots of exercise learning to use his wheelchair and build up his upper body strength. He had visitors nonstop on Saturday and Sunday, so don't worry about him being bored or lonely :) He even got some extra special cuddles from Addy and Asher.
Thank you so much for your donations, kind thoughts and prayers. You give us strength!
Wow, I wish I had a more profound statement to make, but I don't. We are so close to our goal in such a short amount of time, it is unbelievable. We are so grateful to each and every one of you for your donations.
I had a nice visit with Dad on Weds. He had just been introduced to his (temporary) wheelchair and was quite sore from all the upper body strain he is not accustomed to. But he's a very strong and determined man (he's a Ward), so I am not worried in the least.
Blue still visits regularly and even has his own baby blue mat to lay on next to the side of Dad's bed.
I will be visiting again this weekend, so I will post another update soon.
Please keep the cards and letters coming, we really do read each one. Also, if you are interested in sending a plant or flowers, contact me for delivery instructions.
Dad and Blue have been reunited! Brittany has been taking Blue to visit Dad every night since he got settled in his new residence. You should see how fast Blue wiggles his hind end and his stubby little tale. They are best buds for sure :)
Dad has been discharged! He will reside in a rehabilitation center while he continues to recover. We have been overwhelmed with support in the form of all kinds. Thank you for all of your help, prayers, and kind words during this incredibly difficult time.
Our dog Blue was released from the vet today. He's home with Brittany and resting. He has a bit of adjusting ahead of him, specifically adjusting to the company of two Corgies and three cats. But we are confident that he will fit in just fine :)
On Monday we were officially informed that the rescuers had recovered Mom. We are comforted knowing that she is at peace and that she has been found. But we will miss her terribly.
Now we must continue to focus on Dad and his recovery.
Each day I see him I am amazed at how quickly his bumps and scrapes are healing and how good he looks and sounds.
Yesterday he shaved for the first time since the slide. Dad is a military man, he never goes more than a day without shaving! So, this really is a big deal :)
We are still dumb founded by this turn of events and all that has happened since the mudslide.
But all in all, I think we can all agree on one thing. We have never once felt alone. We have so many friends and family and even strangers reaching out to us. Offering prayers and cards and food and donations.
You are our strength right now.
Thank you for all that you have done and for all that you continue to do.
Dad is doing well after his surgery. He had his first round of physical therapy today and managed to sit up and get both legs over the edge of the bed. That's a major accomplishment given the extend of his injuries!!
We are so proud of his determination and high spirits, despite this horrible turn of events. But, he's a Ward and we know he will persevere.
Please keep Mom in your prayers. We still have no word.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and donations.
We just visited with Dad in the hospital. He has a long and difficult road to recovery but we know he will pull through. Dad is an Army vet and an outdoorsman. He knows what it take to get things done.
He is also a man if great faith. He has a very close relationship with The Lord. He knows everyone is praying for him and he says he can feel it.
Please continue to pray for his recovery and the swift rescue of our Mom Brandy.
Your support brings us to tears. We are beyond humbled and so thankful for each donation.
We are overwhelmed and so humbled by everyone's support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! My Dad is getting stronger every day and his spirits are high. We are hopeful that we will be reunited with Mom soon, that she will be found alive. One of Dad's dogs "Blue" was rescued and we have no doubt he will make a full recovery. May The Lord bless you all for your support and prayers. -Blessings, Tiffany
Tiffany~ I am so sorry for your loss. With the help of some amazing customers and friends, through my Scentsy business, I was able to raise this for you and your family. You are on my mind and heart often. Many prayers for you.
