Impaired Driver Simulator
Thank you for taking time out of your day to learn about Safe Ride Home. The conception of our organization originated nearly 20 years ago when Mike Cortez, the founder of our group experienced the loss of a friend as a result of an alcohol related crash. Mike is a local law enforcement officer who has seen firsthand how impaired driving can destroy lives of the innocent as a result of poor decision making on the part of impaired drivers throughout our community. Safe Ride Home was put into service 10 years ago to offer free rides to imapired persons to a hotel or home on New Year's Eve. We have since grown into a nonprofit organization that has safely transported over 2000 individuals home during several holidays and community events throughout the year. Our organization firmly believes in the theory of education first, enforcement action second. This makes drinking and driving a personal choice. We are currently working to educate the public through our local schools and businesses by utilizing cutting edge technology to simulate the effects of alcohol on drunk drivers. In order to accomplish this goal we are working hard to raise the needed funds to purchase and maintain simulator equipment. We are on our way to our $30,000.00 goal and need your help to achieve it!
