Here are three reasons why this surgery is important:
"¢ Removing weight on my upper body will help with chronic back pain due to herniated 'slipped' disks in my spine (less weight on my chest means my back muscles won't be as tight which should help with the pain and might let the disks heal altogether)
"¢ Chest surgery will allow me more ease of movement; with spastic cerebral palsy moving around is hard enough without the extra weight
"¢ Having a flat chest will also help with body dysmorphic issues (negative thought patterns about a part of the body which result in harm) and improve my self confidence
