Hello!! Again it has been a while since last post...well since Gwen has been out of the hospital, she's had some up and down days, more up than down because she's walking by faith that this too shall pass.... She is currently receiving her treatments for her lymphoma which by the way are VERY VERY EXPENSIVE! Even with the insurance and donations, it's still a struggle. I created this site in hope that friends, family and even strangers would pitch in any way God put on their hearts to donate. Again, I am very appreciative for the donations received, Gwen as well. However, she is yet having hardship and depression because of the side effects from her treatments prevents her from working so she is trying daily to deal. I'm asking for anything, whatever you can donate to help Gwen survive this awful diagnoses of CANCER!! And it's baggage that comes with it..
Hi it's me again with an update. We need to raise $5900 by next week or Gwen won't be able to finish her cancer treatments!! Today is her first treatment but they want her deductible met before moving forward.. Anything, anything you're blessed to give will be highly appreciated! This could be you.... Let's show Gwen some love!!
All who know Gwen knows she'll do the same!!
Hello, it's been a while since I've posted. Well Gwen is at home and is doing better since they've taken out her spleen. The test revealed that the spleen was loaded with lymphoma nodules and had ruptured. Thanks to God and the quick thinking of Dr. Kim, they removed it and her deterioration subsided. Her jaundice got better but her liver is still infected with lymphoma cancer cells as well as her lymph nodes. Tomorrow, the 29 th she will be having her pet scan to see if the lymphoma have traveled. She is still a little jaundice. Her night sweats are back but her treatments starts on Wednesday. Gwen is still not able to work, she is working on getting ssi but we all know it's a process and her hospital bills won't go away, nor her financial obligations like rent etc. I created this site to reach out to those who could possibly give her help of whatever blessings you can. Again I would like to thank all who have. Please help Gwen survive lymphoma!✹✹✹
Thanks again and may God bless all...
Hello hello hello! Greetings in the name of Jesus... Well it's been a while since I've posted. Gwen has come a long way since last post. Since her spleenectomy her has been inclining instead of declining! The cancer treatments are started and she continues to get better and stronger and her appetite is slowly coming back!! She still can't eat as much yet, but we'll take the baby steps! =) her bilirubin is also stabilizing! Although there is still a long road to recovery but it ain't over until God says it's over!!!! Her bills continues to accumulate and just a reminder, she still can use all of the financial help she can get, whether it's a dollar or $100. Anything at this point will help Gwen to have a peace of mind not worrying about her bills etc. COME ON POTENTIAL DONORS!! LET'S SHOW GWEN SOME LOVE AND SUPPORT!!
Thanks a billion♥♥♥♥ God bless
I pray that the donations continues to come! There hasn't been no activity today but I'm believing God for more donations. We've only just begun. Please share.
I had a conversation with Gwen and she said she's scared. I told her that being scared is a normal emotion, crying is a normal emotion when you're given that type of news! However, once you've gone through those emotions, end it with prayer and belief and she'll conquer!!!! Thanks for your support and please pass the website on. =)
I'm asking for prayers today for Gwen strength. She continues to struggle with this diagnosis :'( please leave words of encouragement for her. As for progress, she continues to struggle with eating which means she'll continue top lose weight. The prayers of the the righteousness prevaileth much.
To all that have donated, I've since updated the goal because it was a typo error. Gwen was in the hospital for almost three weeks with no health insurance. She was seen by numerous doctors and specialist. There were frequent tests, medication given etc. After carefully calculating and going over how much she's going to be in debt, I changed the goal. This may seem big but as I reach out to thousands on the media, as well as asking her friends to share this site, I know that we will well meet that goal, if not exceed it!! Be blessed and keep on donating and spreading because it's always good to do good.
I would like to take this time to say THANKS A BILLION!! to the donors that have contributed to the cause. Gwen, who is still fairly weak but trusting in God's healing power also says she's greatly appreciative for your prayers and donations. She will beat this!! Not having to worry about her bills and kids well being will definitely aid in her healing process. Today she didn't eat well nor sleep well, but this too shall pass. Shanita Davis, Belinda, evelina and Michelle, God bless you all!!!
Gwen was released from the hospital Sunday. They will know by Friday what stage her lymphoma is in and the type. Lymphoma comes in various types from aggressive to non aggressive. After staging, a plan will be put into place. Meanwhile, I continue to urge potential donors to donate. If the Lord has blessed you with any type of extra funds, please reach out to Gwen and her children.
We appreciate your efforts and thoughts.
Today was really a hard day for Gwen :'( although chemo hasn't started, the fact that she's going through this and the upcoming chemo is taking a toll on her mentally. They've started her on nasal cannula until she goes home and she also had to have two units of blood. At the end of the day though, her spirits were much better, including laughing. Please pray for her.
hi visitors and potential donors. my sister gwendolyn matthews a 37 years old mother of five has been recently diagnosed with lymphoma. the diagnosis is still new and they don't have the stage nor treatment in plan yet. she's been in the hospital now for over two weeks. she was admitted very ill. at first they couldn't figure out why she was getting high fevers that was causing her mental status change, nor why she was losing weight and severely anemic. The antibiotics didn't work and the steroids etc. didn't either. finally, two biopsies later, she was given the dreaded news of lymphoma!!! this news is very devastating to our family, especially her kids which includes a 18 year old son, 16 year old daughter, twin boys 9 & a 6 year old daughter. gwen was a very hard worker! barely missing days at work. she don't have health insurance. she just recently signed up for healthcare in the market place but her premiums are high! she have to pay $240 monthly. not to mention the co pay per hematologist visits and the chemo. she won't be able to return back to work, obviously until after she is in remission, and she will go into remission! on behalf of gwen, my family and i would sincerely appreciate it if you can help us out with any donation of any kind, for as her doctor bills continue to sky rocket!!! and please keep us in your prayers for this long strategious journey we're about to embark on. We're not scamming nobody, we just don't have enough money to make sure that Gwen and her children are well taken care of that way she can focus on her healing, physically and mentally. Chemo drags you down and to add wworrying a about how she's going to pay bills now that she's not working is what I'm trying to avoid. I know that they're good people out there that have a little extra that they can share with. I agree with the song writer " You can't beat Gods giving, no matter how hard you try." The more he gives the more he'll give to you. Thank you and may God bless those who gave and those who want to give and especially those who got it but choose not to give. Amen
