Let's be real. When we were in high school, they made it seem so sweet. Go to college, graduate, and get a great job...live happily ever after. It's not that easy though. Student loan debt and the job market make it much harder to live the dream. I'm trying to...but I need your help. Every little bit count. Donate a dollar! 50 cents! Anything you can give...and if you can't give, then share!
Happy Memorial day!! Have a few drinks and then click on my link ;) $8,182 dollars to go!
Is it weird that I sometimes have dreams that I'm back on campus and running late for class? Maybe they're actually premonitions! You can help make my dream a reality...please don't stop sharing! And remember, every penny counts. I'll be just as grateful for $1 as I am for $100.
Just a friendly reminder that I am still grinding, still hopeful, and will never give up. Love you all. Spread the love and spread the word.
Not giving up just yet :) You could be the reason I don't. Please continue to share and repost!!!
$1 or $2 could change my life for the better! Please share my story and/or give whatever you can.

My name is Denasha Bullock and I want to tell you my story and share my journey through higher education. I come from a lower middle class family; the product of a single parent household. Growing up I always planned to go to college because I was constantly told that my only ticket out of the "ghetto" was a college education. Easy enough right? Make good grades, apply to college, get accepted and graduate. Well for many inner city youth, it is not that simple. We grow up focusing so much on getting into college, but we rarely prepare our youth to STAY in college.
I was accepted to my dream school, The College of William and Mary, and was able to afford tuition through financial aid, loans and maintaining a part time job. I thought I had it all figured out, but as I look back, there were so many things I didn't know (that I wish someone had taught me). I quickly realized that money goes even more quickly than it comes; and that my high school study habits would not cut it at such a prestigious school.
In the spring of 2008 I was suspended from William and Mary due to low academic performance. I went back home to DC to a disappointed family and a discouraged self; but I somewhere beneath my grief I found courage. I enrolled in a community college, got a full time job to pay the tuition, and began my process to get readmitted into William and Mary. I earned a 4.0 and gleaming recommendations from my supervisors and professors, and in fall of 2010 I was readmitted!
It was December 2011 and I am preparing to walk in the winter graduation ceremony. I have three classes left to take but the College offers summer courses, and those can be knocked out in couple months easy. They allow me to walk. I think all my dreams are about to come true, until I get a letter saying that I will not receive financial aid to cover the last three classes I need to earn my degree. What's more is that I actually OWE the college $6,000 from the previous semester.
Fast forward to the present. Despite my lack of credentials I am able to land quality jobs in my field. However, the jobs I REALLY want, that could actually help pay off my debt and allow me to finish school require a 4 year degree. After almost 3 years of trying to do this on my own, I have decided to finally ask for help. I have worked so hard to get where I am, and I refuse to give up now. With your help I WILL finish my degree at MY school, the College of William and Mary.
Before I can return to school, I have to pay the $6,000. William and Mary charges about $900 per credit so to take one class is roughly $2,700. I am asking that you donate whatever you can: and if you cannot donate then share my story.
Thank you and much love!
