If you know me at all you know how much I love serving people, ministering to others, and following the path that God has laid out in front of me. As many of you may know I was able to travel to Kenya, Africa in the summer of 2013 and I am beyond excited to share with you the new adventure God has placed inside my heart.
Recently I heard about a mission's trip to Ireland through The City Church of Batavia and I believe God spoke to my heart. In Matthew 28:19-20, the bible says "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Though there are people all over the world that don't know about Jesus, I believe that God has called me to travel to Ireland to spread the Gospel.
I wanted to inform you about what is currently happening in Ireland and also what we will be involved in while we are there. The single largest denomination in Northern Ireland is Roman Catholic Church (about 44% of the population). The conflict between Catholicism and protestant Christianity has historic and political roots. It has created division and heartbreak in the nation. As a result many people in this nation (especially among the youth) could quote the first of the 10 Commandments, could not say where Jesus was born, do not know what is celebrated at Easter etc. We will be leaving on June 3rd 2014 and arriving back on June 13th 2014. While in Ireland we are going to work with local churches and a Bible college to help them in evangelism and street witnessing in Cork, Dublin and surrounding areas. Our goal will be to build relationships and invite them to the services we will conduct at local churches in the evenings.
I am asking you to join in prayer with me as I travel to Ireland to share the gospel. I am so thankful for your prayers and appreciative any donations you may be able to make. I am beyond excited for what God has in store for this mission's trip to Ireland and I will be sure to tell you all about my trip after I return home.
