Hello Everyone!

We just wanted to take a quick moment to share some incredibly positive news with you all about Colie.

In early June, Colie had surgery to remove the tumor from her right rib cage. The tumor was removed successfully but not without a price. Colie, had to have two ribs permanently removed while a third was basically gone due to the damage caused by the tumor. Colie's doctors replaced two of the ribs with permanent titanium ribs. A month later she has received her first scan with no signs of the cancer. She still has a little less than 100 days of chemotherapy left. She is currently doing physical therapy to help her regain full movement on the right side of her upper body and she says it is going well. We are so happy to share this positive news with all of you that supported her throughout this continuing journey and we will keep you updated on her progress.

-Much love from Elon Women's Soccer

Hello Kickin' It With Colie supporters! Thanks to everyone for your continued support. Colie has responded well to the first few months of treatment. It was great seeing her back on campus for our annual Elon Athletics award banquet where she picked up her FEMALE ATHLETE of the YEAR award!!!! From a medical standpoint, the tumor has significantly reduced in size and the doctors have set a surgery date in early June! Colie continues to be overwhelmed with the amazing support from friends, family, and the soccer community! Much Love - Kickin' It With Colie!

We can't thank everyone enough for supporting Colie! When we started the "Kickin' It With Colie" site, we were not really sure what level of response to expect. The display of love and support from Colie's friends, our Elon Soccer alumni, Elon University, our local soccer networks, friends and families of our team, and the NCAA soccer community has been nothing short of incredible! Your actions and positive words are incredibly motivating to Colie as she starts this journey. Thanks for everything. Now... let's keep rollin' and "Kickin' It With Colie!"

Hey everyone!

Nicole Dennion is one amazing young woman and a sophomore forward on our Elon University women's soccer team. Around Elon, she goes by "Colie" but many of you probably know her as the 2013 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Year! In mid-February, Colie noticed a small bump on the right side of her rib cage. This led her to the hospital for X-rays, a CAT scan that revealed a tumor, and ultimately a biopsy that officially diagnosed a cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. Ewing's Sarcoma is a cancer of the bone, or soft tissue surrounding the bone, that typically is found in children and young adults. However, those of us that REALLY KNOW Colie are aware that cancer actually just caught a real bad case of Jersey redhead called NICOLE DENNION!

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for Colie and her mother Sharon. She is in the process of withdrawing from her classes and moving back to New Jersey where she will receive treatment at the Fox Chase Cancer center in Philadelphia (about 45 minutes from her home). Nicole is just beginning her journey and we have set up this account to offset the numerous costs that are going to be associated with her relocation, living expenses, care, and travel. We all can't wait to see Colie back in uniform and out on the field again in the future. Thanks so much for your support of "Kickin' It With Colie!"

Please everyone, let's get on board and help Nicole Dennion out in her victory over Ewing's Sarcoma. A strong young woman like Nicole will certainly win a fight like this but not without our support. Please help as much as you can.

Colie, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We have cheered your name during our pre-game, and we have used your fight to show the boys that while not everything in life is "fair", that your reaction to life events is what matters, and can help determine your outcome. Never give up, stay strong, and thank you for being such a great role model for our team. From 17 Midget League (U11'ish) boys, Burlington Park's and Rec. Soccer, Parents, and Coaches!!!!!
