I wanted to share another song. This was Kim's favorite. When it came on the radio, she sang it...
God Bless her, She did not have a voice, but I sure miss how I enjoyed the joy in which she belted this song
Paul made it plain in Romans 8:38-39 that nothing can separate us from God's love:
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow"”not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below"”indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
No one can truly understand the depth of someone else's suffering, or the reasons that could drive a soul to such desperation. Only God knows what is in a person's heart (Psalm 139:1-2).
Only God knows the extent of Kim's pain. This songs emotional depth touched me, but no reference to any details to how Kim left us.
Kim would start, "Can I ask you a stupid question?" I know she believed in God, therefore God has received her to sing in the Angels Choir.
Kim entered my life a couple of years ago like a whirl wind. Vibrant, beautiful, and OMG the girl could talk.
Kim shared with me the adventures she had with many of you. How she had a crush on Shaun, proud to say, my son back in High School.
Certainly to Shaun' dismay, she told me all about the High school parties, some at our house. You know "When the cat's away, the mice will play".
She inched into my heart and filled our time together with laughter; she reminded me of youthful innocence; and she truly loved me as no other friend has.
We shared so much in a short time.
We dreamed together of the perfect wedding.
What she would wear,
the flowers, her hair
and who would be there.
How long it had been though,
we had not dreamed of our fairy tale day.
She stopped sharing with me. Not all together, just the pain. Dana posted the perfect sentiment: "You are so brave and quiet, I forget you are suffering." Ernest Hemingway
Kimber I hope you can hear,
do not fear,
you achieved all that you needed from me.
All my love and acceptance.
Please continue to contribute to pay for Kim's final expenses. Through our kindness and generosity, we can make a difference.
There are many questions with no answers. It has been too many days that I have not gotten my daily dose of "luv you Momma Dukes".
I awoke this morning wishing I had said, "I love you MORE!"
I was looking forward to a lifetime with her and my son Shaun.
Gail and I spoke yesterday with heavy hearts; we are not going to share that special day with our children and Keith walk his baby girl down the aisle to her future.
Kim amazed me often with her creativity; a sweetness that I have never seen in a person; the sensitivity of a child; the ease at which she could make a new friend; and mostly how she has endeared herself into our hearts.
I am praying for all the lives that Kimber has touched. So many...
Update: Donations are being accepted through March 31st or when we reach our goal (whichever occurs first). My request for donations are specifically for the cost of Bennett Funeral Home services. Please share this link.
I would like to express my sorrow for you and your son. Not only are you all great customers, but more importantly great people. She was so pleasant and outgoing every time I worked with her. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Friends and friends of friends have made donations to this cause. Some intended monies to go directly to Shaun to help him with his and Kim's home bills. He thanks you, and wants your money to go to Bennett Funeral home
This donation is from one Angel, Charles, to another Angel, Kimber. May they both rest in peace, and know how much they are loved by so many. Until we meet again.......we Love You to Infinity and Beyond!!
We can not begin to know the pain that your family is going through. Kimber was a beautiful girl inside and out that grew into a beautiful woman. As parents we don't expect to lose our children. Please know that your firefighter family is here for you. Kimber was an angel on a Earth, and now is your guardian angel looking over you and with you always in spirit and your hearts. Our family sends you love and wants you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
