Saving Sodapop's Knees!

Our 7 year old border collie/beagle mix, Sodapop, started showing signs of pain when getting up and trying to jump on the couch. We took her to the vet to find out what was wrong with our baby girl, and got some very bad news.

Sodapop has grade 4 luxating patella, which is as bad as it can get, and according to the vet it's extremely painful for her. The vet told us that without surgery our little girl would be immobile by 10, but if we went ahead and did the surgery now, she should be able to live an active, pain free life until around 15.

There's no question about us getting the surgery for her, we will do what we have to do in order to get it done, but any help offered along the way would be so very appreciated.

We can only do one knee at a time, and the recovery time will be 8-12 weeks... 3-6 months later we will be able to do the second knee, with the same recovery time.

Right now we have our girl on meds to try and help her be more comfortable until we develop a game plan to get this done. The vet gave us an estimate of $780 per knee for the surgery.
