My best friend Jade has a momentous birthday coming up, her 40th! It has always been her dream to someday take a trip to Ireland and experience first hand the beauty and culture of The Emerald Isle.
First a little about Jade. She is a great friend who is about to turn 40 in May! She is always willing to go the extra mile to help someone out. She is a master organizer and loves planning things and running events (which will make my job that much easier if I get funded for a trip ;) Jade is very active in the city, she has been a leader in the community where we live; she is the Welcome Wagon representative in our area, welcoming new neighbors, or congratulating people with new babies; she runs many events and supports many more. She is President of a Beta Sigma Phi sorority chapter; an active Past Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star; and Past Club President of Daughters of the Nile.
I live on a fixed disability income, and money isn't really there for big extras in life. In the past for her birthday I've gotten her only what I can afford, and she deserves more for her 40th! So here's my idea: Let's get together and send her a big present from all of us. Let's get together and send her on her dream vacation to Ireland!
It is a lot of money, but if we get together and come up with a just a portion of it we can still get her something great!
