Daryl Marciszewski's Battle w/Chordoma

Donation protected
Daryl is a Baltimore City Fire Fighter who married the love of his life in April 2003. Their honeymoon phase came to an abrupt stop one night, Labor Day weekend 2004, when Daryl was at work and all of the sudden passed out and was taken to the hospital. They soon learned that life would change for them all to quickly! The MRI of Daryl's head showed a tumor in it and the doctors gave Daryl and his family the worst news. They did not know what they were looking at or where to begin to treat it but they knew he needed to be treated or he could lose his life. He was transported to The University of Maryland Medical Center. His doctor that took him on knew exactly what he was looking at! It's a rare tumor called a Chordoma Tumor. Daryl had been through 5 surgeries to help him fight this tumor and after his 5th surgery he went to Boston, MA for Proton Radiation. He responded very well and was living his normal life again with yearly MRI's to watch and make sure it did not come back. They were told they could possibly never have children after the amount of radiation Daryl had and they were blessed with 3 beautiful children. Just shortly after their youngest was born, Daryl's MRI showed growth in the tumor. His surgeon tried another surgery to remove more of the tumor and was unsuccessful. Not long after that Daryl's body started to break down. His eye sight was now double and the left side of his body was getting weaker. He saw his doctor and the doctor ordered a scan right away. That is when they learned the Tumor had grown to half the size it was in 2004 and was pressing on his brain stem. He has been through 4 more surgeries since then and is now paralyzed on his right side. Daryl and his wife Susan are now in Chicago while Daryl is undergoing intense radiation to battle this tumor. I want to help him and his family any way possible to make things easier on them so he can focus on recovery. They just got the news that they have to stay a few more days for more treatment and any little bit can help! Please help this amazing father spends many more years with his children by donating. Any little bit can help!
