When we started the Steven's Performance Arts Club this year we were shocked by the incredible response we received! Our club has maintained a strong base of 50+ 2nd-5th graders who couldn't be more excited to live out our motto, Sing-Dance-Act, every Wednesday after-school. Without a music or dance program, our club is the only opportunity most students have to experience performance arts. We hope by making this experience as meaningful as possible we will spark a life-long passion for music, theater and dance in our members!
Our big-goal is to produce a musical for the end of the year. We've selected the smash-hit Disney's Aladdin Kids for our production, and our school has generously provided the funds to purchase the script/license. But to make our show really stand out - we need the help of our community! We're asking for sponsors to help us with costumes, props, lights, make-up and microphones for our young actors.
We've selected GoFundMe because it is a flexible fund-raising platform that will let us purchase all the random odds-ends our parent and staff volunteers need to bring the city of Agrabah to life. Our team of volunteers is ready to lend a hand, or a sewing machine, to the effort - we just hope they won't have to break the bank.
