LetterstoDaniel Breakdown to Bestseller

Donativo protegido
Hi there. My name is Amy McCorkle and I'm an award winning, bestselling, author, blogger and screenwriter. But it hasn't always been this way.

In October of 1999 I suffered a breakdown. I had crying jags 8 hours long. I slept one hour a night. My thoughts seemed to be on a racetrack that never stopped. And the way I treated the only person around me to help, deplorable. I threw things. I threatened her. I couldn't hold job. I locked myself in public bathrooms. And writing? Writing was a long held dream quickly falling apart and through my fingers like sand in an hour glass.

It was like I was in a pitch black tunnel with not even a pinpoint of light to lead me out. After three trips to different psychiatrists, one literally telling me it was all in my head (gotta love Texas emergency psych's) I was diagnosed as rapid cycling bipolar disorder. The next year was spent desperately trying to get stabilized, I went almost a year without writing at all. I couldn't even sit in a movie theater and enjoy a movie or read a book. At the end of the year I suffered a second breakdown and was forced to move from Texas back to Kentucky. Where it seemed for a time all my dreams had gone to die.

But slowly, with the help of my best friend and writing partner and the good psychiatrists and therapists of Voc Rehab and Seven Counties and lot hard work, we slowly put me back together again.
The turning point came in stages. By 2009 I had begun writing again, and with Missy's help had made three indie indie indie low microbudget films. None of which ever played a festival one, and one having enough post production funds to finish and submit and premiere for our actors.

In 2009 I saw a movie called Casino Royale. And hero prototype was born enabling me to start writing with a vengeance. I wrote novel, Another Way to Die. With a hero that looked a lot like the actor who had inspired me so with his performance and the way he carried himself professionally. Daniel Craig.

Fast forward to May 2013 I had 24 publishing contracts, 7 books out a bestseller in GLADIATOR. I wanted to write my memoirs, so I started a blog entitled Letters to Daniel where I told my story in series of letters to Daniel Craig. You can find it here: http://letters-todaniel.blogspot.com. Fast forward to the fall by that time the memoir inspired by the blog had been released and I had two more bestsellers in Bounty Hunter and the memoir of the same name.
Now I want to reach an even bigger audience with a documentary. Please take time to consider sharing this information and donating to what I hope is a film that will screen at festivals and find distribution.
