Documentary fund!

Hello my name is Andy and I am currently a senior photo major at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I am interested in pursuing a career in the documentary field and having the chance to travel due to scholarships and savings has reassured me I want to stay in this field.

Being able to capture and express people's individual stories is what catches my attention and is interesting to me because everyone on this earth has a story to tell.


However, not having my own equipment to capture these stories prevents me from pursuing my dream. I am currently working at a mental disability home, commuting to school in the city from Long Island and using the money I make to pay bills,loans and train rides. My mom being a single mom of 3 kids can only help me with what she can but still not enough for me to have extra money to ideally purchase what I need to pursue my dream since photo/video equipment is expensive. My sister also goes to school in the city and my brother is currently in the marines.


Working on a short video documentary on my brother further reassured my love for documentary. This help would allow me to hopefully get a career in this field once I graduate this May from college!
