Lisa and I have some incredible friends and family. Thanks to your generosity we have raised $800 to replace Kevin's MacBook.
I am so appreciative for many reasons. As some of you may know"¦ Lisa and Mike's home was robbed last year and they lost a considerable amount of property"¦both in value and irreplaceable family possessions so I know that they have dealt with their share of thievery. But this incident with Kevin was different for my sister. An airline employee stealing from the military bag of her teenage son during his holiday visit home was about as low as it gets. And the refusal of American Airlines to take any responsibility just added to this wrong.
You folks saw that too"¦ and you stepped up. It proves two things to me"¦.one low life creep is definitely outnumbered by better people in this world that will help out. And two"¦a teenage kid stepping up and enlisting in the military is still appreciated for his service to our country. I'm happy for both Lisa and Kevin. Thank you all.
I set this site up for my nephew & godson Kevin. He enlisted in the Army following HS graduation to become a medic in U.S. Army Airborne Division. He returned home for the first time at Christmas and in his excitement, checked his military issued bags in San Antonio, TX. He changed flights in Dallas and landed in Sacramento. His brand new Mac Book was stolen from his bag. Apparently, it was taken by an airline employee as the IP address was initially accessable and it was found at the home of a name that matched an AA employee in Dallas. Unfortunately, American Airlines has stonewalled the issue for over a month and will not take responsibility. To them, its only a laptop... and he shouldn't have checked it. This is wrong....Kevin is a private in the Army, he makes less than minimum wage, and it will take him 1 1/2 months to earn enough money to replace. His next stop is overseas for two years and the laptop keeps him in touch with family and friends. Stealing from a soldier at Christmas is low. Lets help make this right. All contributions are welcome...Thank you.
