Help Support Austin's Recovery

On March 23, 2013 Austin Newcomb, a 16 year old teenager from Selden, Long Island was struck by a car. For those who know Austin or heard about his accident, know that because of this tragedy caused by a careless person (who was driving with a suspended license and initially left the scene of the accident), Austin's life was changed forever. He suffered severe head/brain trauma, a broken leg and shoulder. While in the hospital, Austin had undergone roughly 17 or more surgeries. It has been a very long 10 months for Austin and his family. Austin has now turned 17 but he is unable to enjoy a normal life like his friends and other teenagers. Austin is unable to walk or talk. He is continually going through intense therapy sessions to help recover. Austin receives speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy. Austin has also done Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). Presently, Austin is slowly making progress. He is very lucky to be surrounded by his amazing and loving parents, sister, extended family and friends who care for him unconditionally. Austin has a long road ahead of him still. He will continue to need extensive long term medical care. His recovery has been long and difficult, not only on him, but for his family as well. Today, I am asking for your help, so Austin and his family can get through this difficult time. Medical and hospital bills along with the cost of medical equipment is outrageously high and only continues to increase.
