Pets ARE Part of the Family, and I have a dream of making
sure more and more people think this way, so:I am asking for YOU to
please invest in my heart and my determination to make life better for generations
to come of our four-legged friends and the people who love them.
Instructing humans in animal life-saving skills and volunteering for the past 15 years at various rescues and shelters has swelled my heart with joy. In the same way, I want to spread the realization that taking a companion animal into one's heart and home transforms us as human beings! I plan to continue giving my time to help that individual cat or dog find his fur-ever soul mate, but also want to create a global groundswell of understanding that Pets ARE Part of the Family and a commitment for their lifetime:no matter what changes in our own lives.
IN 2014 I PLAN TO:
1. Persuade at least one major car company to include the Sunny-dog Ink Ultimate Travel & Hiking Dog First-Aid Kit as part of the package in their pet-friendly vehicles, so that on-the-road, people can help their furry kid just as they would their human child.
2. Remind people that creatures of all color, age, shape, size and ability are deserving of love, and to consider cuddling with a senior cat or one who is handicapped, a black dog or one who is a breed they have wrongly judged. To accomplish this, two sequels are underway to my first illustrated children's book, Don't Judge a Book by its Cover, as well as a potential line of plush animal toys:the first being an older gray-faced black Labrador retriever (aka Mr. Rico)! New characters will be introduced with my purpose to have children (and the child in all of us) love and cuddle a "pretend pet" that isn't necessarily the perfect puppy or kitten yet one who deserves love and has love to give. The realization transcending to living breathing animals.
HOW?
Share my message that Pets ARE Part of the Family by making my voice heard in 2014 which takes funding:
· Travel to Pet Industry Shows
· Increase Public Relations efforts
· Locate and persuade people who can make steps happen
· Create the Products (Kits, Books and Plush Toys)
I once thought of myself as an island, needing to work on my own, but have discovered that so much more can happen -- for the good of all -- with the help of people who care and encourage, so... whatever you feel you can invest in my dream to make animals part of the family, I hope will bring us all closer to that heart swell of pure joy so readily seen in the wagging of a tail!
