Juan’s Transition Back Home!

Donation protected
As some of you may already know, on July 14th Juan had a devastating diving accident that left him paralyzed from his shoulders down. He had broken his C5, and part of his C4 and was in critical care. he under went a surgery to stabilize his spinal cord, and another surgery to place a tracheotomy in his neck. He was in a medically induced coma for two weeks, he was essentially living off machines and medications for 4 heart wrenching weeks. A little over a month later, he was transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital still on the ventilator, and has since then gotten off the ventilator and recently got his tracheotomy out! We are very proud of Juan for working so hard in his therapy’s daily, and he has regained motion in his biceps. He has no movement or sensation past his shoulders and is wheelchair dependent. As we are getting closer to his release date, we are getting closer to having to transition him back home. We are in quite the bind, his single mom of 4 other little ones had quit her job to help care for Juan since July, and having to find a wheelchair accessible house we can afford, purchasing wheelchair accessible transportation, and other adaptive equipment needed to help Juan with everyday living is very tough! We are kindly asking asking for prayers and donations of any kind, and are more than grateful for everything you all have done for us!!!god bless
