For Family

My name is Jill, I have put this page together on behalf of my friend Kim and her children. This is the only avenue for assistance left for Kim and her family. Despite the close family ties Kim and her children have, 2012 and 2013 were quite unkind to this family. Kim is in need of help because she and her children are at risk of being homeless if she doesn't get help quickly. Her church has pitched in and been very kind. I know her church and her faith have given her strength and continued support but she and her family are in need of more help to prevent their lives from being uprooted and forever changed more than has already happened.Kim and I used to work together so I know Kim well. When I first started working with her I could have sworn she was there 24/7. She worked 70 hours a week at night to support her family and still be able to see them and be there for them during the day. Needless to say, Kim did not sleep much. Kim is a very tough, very strong woman but she is at a huge risk because she has congestive heart failure. She has had multiple interventions during 2012-2013. Her husband also worked though for him, sadly, he had his daily struggles with Rheumatoid Arthritis and severe depression. They were high school sweethearts married nearly 28 years by 2012. Sadly, the fight that her husband fought against constant pain and sadness was too much. He took his life in front of his family in December 2012 with one fatal gunshot. Kim and her husband have three children. Her son has had two ablations, which are very invasive cardiac interventions, between 2012-2013 for a cardiac arrhythmia called SVT. Her oldest son is now suffering from severe depression since the tragic loss of his father. He has since been able to obtain a job but it is not enough to support the family. They are all working very hard together to beat all odds but I think we could all help them out. Kim is a respected Respiratory Therapist but was let go from her most recent job for no good reason in June 2013. Because we live in an At-Will employment state, it is legal for employers to fire anyone at any time for any reason. It was a wrongful termination if you ask me but in this state it is perfectly legal. There really are not many jobs available to RTs at this time because there are too many schools graduating too many RTs. Kim had been at her previous job for twelve years which poses another problem in that she most likely will have to accept much less for pay when a job does come along. Kim has received assistance from unemployment and other state and federal assistance programs but they have run dry. She had to withdraw her retirement to pay the bills and support her family but that too has run dry. We all know how expensive medicine/medical intervention and on top of that regular bills, food, and maintenance. Kim's medical bills that I know of total at least $125,000. With this money Kim will be able to catch up on her daily/maintenance bills, keep her house, feed her family, start a payment plan for medical bills, register, tag, and insure her car so that she can go freely to job interviews, and breathe a little. It really is hard for me to know such a great person, someone so strong, smart, funny, kind, family oriented, has to endure this. Please help my friend and her family.
