In a small town, there lives a girl who gives everything she has for a normal life for herself and her family. She has a husband who loves her, and two adorable children who depend on her. She has a best friend who is more like a sister, and she has a great sense of humor. She has a heart and a mind worth knowing.
And she is sick. She needs treatment, but to get to the treatment center will take a significant amount of monetary resources which she just doesn't have at her ready disposal. It looks like it will be a total of $4500 dollars for Kari to go to Timberline Knolls treatment center for between four and six weeks, depending on what they determine is her need. This will cover airfare, and the part of the treatment that Kari's insurance will not pay. Kari and her husband are doing what they can to save money as well, so that she can go to Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center. Timberline Knolls residential treatment facility is a private campus with a 24 hour staff of medical professionals specializing in eating and mood disorders, as well as addiction. They are a female-only treatment center, and while they have a religious background, the focus is on compassionate and competent psychiatric care. And while there is a life-long battle with the disorders Kari struggles with ahead, TK, Kari, and I all believe it is possible to move out of battle mode and into living life. And really, isn't that what we all want?
