For the past 150 years, Siloam Cemetery has not only served as a peaceful, final resting place for many of our loves ones, but also as an integral part of Vineland’s rich and longstanding history. Many of you have found solace in knowing that your loved ones are peacefully resting here, and Siloam’s dedicated Board of Trustees has worked tirelessly to preserve and maintain these beautiful grounds for its city’s residents.
However, our chapel, which serves as the centerpiece of this cemetery, is in dire need of restoration. Built in 1918, it has since served as a place for reflection and bereavement for the families of those resting in peace. It has also served as an office and winter mausoleum. As the 100th anniversary of our chapel is qu8ickly approaching, it is imperative for us to preserve it.
Though we have recently been able to start the restoration process and make the chapel structurally sound, we have been forced to suspend the project, due to a lack of funding. We are currently in need of an additional $75,000.00 to replace the hardwood floor, repair nine stained glass windows as well as the front door, the pews and the plaster walls.
For this reason, we are humbly requesting your support to help us preserve this beloved chapel for our community.
