For the Love of Betty Party

In December 2013, Betty Dewoody was diagnosed with breast cancer. This time of year has most of us in good spirits and full of excitement on what is to come for the New Year. Our biggest concerns are trying to find the best gifts to give our loved ones for Christmas and making plans for New Year's Eve. Betty's world has changed. She is a single mom of two boys. Her concerns are now just centered on their future and battling for her own. We all have a "Betty" in our lives. She is your sister, your Mom, your best friend that tells you like it is with no filter. She has enough energy to light up the world, a sick sense of humor, and strong willed. It would be easy if she could just worry about getting well but that is not all there is to this diagnosis. It's chemo, radiation, tiring, nauseating, vomiting, hair loss, dry eyes, weakening, time off of work, wigs, bi-lateral surgery, reconstructive surgery, and financially draining. This is just to name a few while trying to keep a full time job. Oh, and be a Mom. We are asking that you attend our "For the Love of Betty Party" on March 15th. We are also accepting donations to help reach our goal of $20,000. This will not heal or cure Betty's cancer. This is a small way for us to do something to help her fight. It is easier to fight when you can just focus on getting well instead of worrying about taking care of the little things that make a big difference like monthly bills, meals, and a mortgage.
