A Safe Place For Me and My Daughter
My daughter and are being told we need to leave by my immediate family in January. I have reached out to many other family members and after no one willing or having the space to take us in I have resorted to going to a homeless shelter. I am currently attending college and start my first semester of nursing(RN) in January 2014. I currently work(minimum wage)but it has not been enough to secure a security deposit and first month's rent for an apartment at such a short notice with rent being very expensive in NY. I have been trying to find a better paying job for months but have not received any callbacks.
I am not one for reaching out for help but I am doing this to have a secure place for my daughter. She means everything to me and I want to give her the best I can give. I want to stay in the nursing program and finish to provide a better life for my daughter. If I go to a shelter I could possibly have to withdraw from the nursing program because they make it very hard for you to go to school and live there.
I am very passionate about becoming a nurse. I love to help others and enjoy the science aspect of nursing. I also want to show my daughter no matter how hard things may get you can accomplish your goals. I hope to be able to pay it forward to others in need when I graduate in 2015 and receive my nursing license. Thank you for reading.
