Had a Demo from Da Vinci mobility on a different type of all terrain chair, it worked out very well and a lot less expensive so more obtainable with your help -

Hello I am a 48 year old single lady living on the Isle of Wight , And owned by a lovely 7yr old springer spaniel called Zach!! ......

Basically my story is as follows :- I contracted meningitis in 2003 and went on to have 5 further major attacks in 10yrs which has now left me with a lot of medical issue and forced me to medically retire in 2014.......

My main issues being my mobility, severe motion sickness, and as a result I now have Addison’s disease, a damaged spine due to many incorrect lumbar punctures,( Which I have had in excess of 10) and most caused more damage as it was done incorrectly as my spine curves. ( I have no recollection of the last severe attack in 2010) .......

I also now suffer from constant DVT’s and I am also asthmatic and diabetic

My condition is known as MOLLARETTS MENINGITIS which is basically recurrent Meningitis, the virus was dormant for awhile but I had another minor attack in March 2018 and April 2019........

I currently use a Quickie Salsa M2 power chair which is excellent day-day but unfortunately it doesn’t like uneven surfaces like sand/grass/ stones/mud etc so I am very restricted where I can and can’t go.....

I am a real outdoorsy type person and am really struggling not being able to go where I want to when I want.....

In 2004 I climbed Mount Snowdon to the very summit with my sister Alana and my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Silas and now in 2019 I’m reliant on a wheelchair as I can’t walk or stand for more than a minute or two
and I have now been unable to work since 2014 due to Organic Brain Damage and serious memory issues and blackouts so funds are not readily available. I have had to give up driving as well due to the memory issues and blackouts so feeling very isolated.......

I have looked into an all terrain power chair but unfortunately they start from £13000 and then climb steeply up from that so have decided a combination of a manual chair and a power bike will work better for me and more transportable for visiting people and start from around £8000

I worked in London as a professional nanny, hospital play specialist and nursery nurse for over 20yrs and then a special needs support worker on the Isle of Wight until I was forced to medically retire in 2014...

I would love to be able to go to the beach again and play with zach and dangle my feet in the surf.. I am hoping to do a few fundraising events like bingo and a quiz show but my personal involvement will be limited in anything physical due to health issues, I am also always On the lookout for alternative funding available

I live on the Isle of Wight so lots and lots of sand and lovely county walks around and I’m now not able to do all the outings I would love to do due to access..I’m happy to answer any questions and promote any businesses that donate or sponsor me, and thank you in advance for reading my post....
