Wildlife Hospital Needs Running Water

Please Help us - The Hospital desperately needs running water!

The Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital
is a registered charity (no: 1078817) dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned and distressed wild animals and birds throughout Leicestershire and the surrounding region.

Volunteering at Leics Wildlife Hospital has been an inspiring experience for me and an important landmark in my own recovery and rehabilitation, after a serious accident.
Due to financial pressure (the Hospital is still recovering from a break-in and theft of equipment) we are currently working with no running water on site. This makes life much more difficult and labour intensive. We are having water delivered in large tanks - this is not only expensive but on a practical day-to-day basis it means the volunteers are filling buckets and plastic containers in order transport them all around the site for cleaning and replenishing the animals drinking facilities. It also means that we cannot use a washing machine on site ( laundry for bedding is a vital service!) .

A geological survey has shown that we have a natural water source on site, that could be tapped in to.Thus providing us with a permanent, sustainable and free source of water.

This would save the Hospital hundreds of pounds per year - money that is desperately needed for food, medicine and life saving equipment.

We need £11,000 to pay for a bore hole and connection which will give us the gift of running water for life.

Please help us if you can!
