Help fund our 2014 Show Season

Hi, I'm Shelby Dennis and I'm a Grade 12 student residing in British Columbia, Canada. I've been riding since the age of 4 and showing since the age of 5 and horseback riding is my absolute passion. I come from a single parent family and for the 5 years have been having to fund my showing on my own. I recently got my new horse, a now 6y/o Thoroughbred gelding who came off the track last year. I've spent this last year retraining him to be a jumper, mostly on my own. We showed a bit last year but ran into some soundness issues when he had a fluke injury. He is now completely sound and we are preparing ourselves for a full show season coming 2014. Seeing as I'm in grade 12, realistically this could be my last full show season and I want to make it a good one. If you have some spare change lying around and feel like you'd like to donate it to this cause, it would be greatly appreciated. All donations will be put towards show fees or necessities for showing (show jacket, braids, breeches, lessons, etc.)





My horse is a 6y/o off the track Thoroughbred named Dallas. He stands 16h and has a heart of gold. Retraining him has been one of the most rewarding and fun experiences I've ever had and this last year has taught me a lot. He is full of talent and I want to be able to showcase that as much as possible this coming show season. I hope to be showing at Thunderbird, Milner and MREC as well as some smaller show venues.






I come from a single parent family due to my parents divorce when I was in grade 4. My mother works as a teacher and my father is left unable to work after suffering a massive stroke years back. They help as much as they can but showing higher level shows is a near impossibility with coming university and grad costs they will have to focus their money on. While I'd love to show as much as possible, I do have to save money for university and prepare myself for student loans, so again, any donations would be hugely appreciated and helpful. I would love to get my horse out and exposed and really showcase his talent this year, as neither one of us knows how certain next year will be yet. He is a super special horse that deserves to be known. I know he will go far and I'd like to be the rider to get him there at least for this one year, if not longer.
