Your donation to this project will help establish a community Secondary School at Mwenilondo in Karonga District of Malawi and train/teach approximately 480 students a year to high school level.
The communities surrounding Mwenilondo in Malawi have embarked on a self help project to construct a community secondary school that will cater for students from 10 villages under group headman Mwangolera. This community at present does not have a Secondary school where pupils from the four primary schools in the area can proceed to complete their education. This has created a high drop out rate.
To address this, the community came together and proposed to construct a community secondary school, the local community provides own labour, however they need finance to source construction materials.
The project looks at constructing 4 school blocks of two classes each, science and biology labs, a computer centre, ablution facilities and school administration block.
The funding raised will be used to provide funds to source construction materials for at least two classroom blocks. Each class room block costs Mk 4,6 million ($11,000) in material costs.
Once raised, the money will be given directly to the committee responsible for managing the school construction project.
