Rebuild Leyte

Hello Friends, As we all know, the Philippines was recently hit by a category five typhoon. Haiyan swept through the country, destroying everything in its path, leaving countless people homeless. I am here to try to help raise funds to rebuild a particular barrio, Buenavista in Palompon, Leyte. Over years of travel, the people of this barrio have gone out of their way to make my family and me feel safe and welcomed. Now, Buenavista is in ruin. Homes were destroyed, walls are down, electricity is out, and people young and old have no place to sleep. There is a great lack of food and clean water. These people have always been so kind, so helpful, and so gracious. To know that everything they have is lost is heartbreaking. Please, if there is any, and I mean ANY amount of money you can give please do so for the sake of humanity. Most of us have experienced Hurricane Sandy and know how tough that was. Try to picture yourself living in a third world country and being trampled by a storm a great deal worse. EVERY cent collected goes directly to Buenavista to buy food, water, and other supplies to help rebuild homes such as nails, roofing, cement, etc. I have come across a collection of film pictures I took from my last trip to the Philippines. It makes me sick to think such a beautiful place was torn to shreds. Thank you for any help you can give. Buenavista will appreciate all efforts immensely.
