We are the Trumansburg High School Robotics Team - FRC#5254: Team HYPE. We are a team of ambitious students, parents and volunteer and professional mentors. We are in our fourth season as a team and we need your continued support in our efforts to build a robot and compete in next years FIRST Robotics Competition.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition that gives students real-world engineering and business development experience. Under strict rules, each team is challenged to raise funds, design (CAD), develop, build and program a 120 lb robot (including electronics and control system components, metal fabrication and pneumatics) to perform assigned tasks against an international field of competitors.  New to FIRST? We had overwhelming support last year from the school, community, friends, family, neighbors (and folks we don't even know) who all contributed from the far reaches of the earth. Pretty fitting since we compete with teams from around the world.

To everyone who donated we say...THANK YOU!

With your help we finished as semi-finalists or finalists at both our regional competitions and made it to the FIRST Championship for the second season in a row finishing as a finalist in our division.

Our team is growing again this year.  We graduated 4 seniors and have recruited 10 talented and energetic students eager to contribute to the team.

We are "gearing up" early to get ready for the 2017 season. Next year's theme is "Steamworks" and we start our build season in early January.  Although the Steamworks rules won't be revealed until January, FIRST has issued a teaser video offering hints as to what lies ahead. Check out the teaser video at : https://youtu.be/37GBEBLfhWA

Our team is 100% community funded and, like last season,  we are raising money to help pay for materials and tools to build our robot (approximately $5,000) and competition event fees ($5,000 per event). We are also moving into a larger space graciously provided by the Trumansburg Central School District and we need funds to fit out the space (approximatley $3,000).

Donations are tax deductible through our 501c3 Trumansburg Robotics Incorporated (EID Number: 46-2861100).

We sincerely apprecite any financial support you can provide to help us continue the tradition of creating Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Business Leaders.

Thank you for your continued support of our students!
