WE DID IT! Thanks to everyone, we reached the goal late last night! I honestly thought that the website would stop accepting donations once we hit the goal but apparently not - we're more than $700 over at this point!!
I've been in touch with Chad and he will absolutely be getting the $2500 that the goal was set for, ASAP.
As for the surplus, I'm planning on giving it to the One Fund as I think it captures the same spirit in which these donations were given. If, however, anyone feels uncomfortable with that please feel free to contact me through the email link on this page and I can refund your donation if you gave at a point in time after we hit the goal. I'm hoping most everyone will be happy with the decision to donate the surplus though.
Thanks to everyone for being amazing and simultaneously surprising me yet exactly meeting my expectations of how awesome Bostonians are.
I'm going to keep this open for a little bit longer, so feel free to keep giving if you want to give to the One Fund via this page! Love you guys!
Chad Duncan's car got absolutely wrecked by a bunch of jamokes who took a celebration and turned it into their own idiotic demolition derby. The Boston Globe reports that Chad is going to be out about $2500 bucks in insurance and new lease fees.
That is stupid. Boston's better than that. Especially after this year, no one who truly loves the city of Boston should ever engage in willful wanton destruction. Let's band together and help Chad pay for what these idiots did. He shouldn't have to.
Just updating with some details - Chad is a stranger to me; I just felt angered by the actions of these destructive people and wanted to do something to help. I'll be meeting with him soon and I'm currently working with GoFundMe to ensure that the money gets to him as quickly and efficiently as possible. The remainder will be going to the One Fund
