Leelands Limb

I am setting up this page to help raise money for my sister and her son Leeland. At the end of 2012 Brandi found out that she was expecting her first child. This was such exciting news for her and Greg. The pregnancy started out with emotions of excitement and joy but then around 12 weeks pregnant Brandis ob doctor gave her some scary news, she had found a lump on her thyroid and needed to see a specialist. She had a biopsy that had confirmed she had THYROID CANCER. Her emotions quickly changed to scared and worried. She then needed to have her thyroid removed. About 15 weeks pregnant she went through over 3 hours og surgery. She did well and deicied to endure the pain instead of taking any medication as to not put the baby in any danger. A short while later she was given some more devestating news! Her baby had what was thought to be a club foot. She had to goto to multiple specialst appointments to monitor the baby and his growth. Now full of fear and doubt this joyus time has turned into a time of afraid of whats next. Now she will be going through radioactive iodine treatment in novemember and in 3 months Leeland will be going through surgery to have his leg amputated. He will get prostetics when he is able to walk but he will rquire physical therapy and surgeries to keep his bones trimmed from growing. Greg will be needing to take time of work which some of will not be paid and they will be traveling to multiple appointments. They have been a strong and tough family and keeping their chins held high. Any money that is raised will go towards their expenses for traveling to doctor apts and help keep their bills paid while greg is not working and it will help cover anything that insurance will not for his prostetic as it will also help with brandis cancer treatment. This is a chance to get this little boy walking and playing along side of the other kids and let mommy and daddy have a little break from worry and dismay.
