Dear family and friends of Jeffrey. Over the last 3 years, our beloved Jeffrey has been treating rare bone cancer on his spine just below the waist, with clinical natural approaches & lots of TLC. Unfortunately this tumor is very aggressive, and has grown to 20 cms (7 1/2 inches). It's now pressing against his colon wall, making it very uncomfortable to sit or drive normally. Its location, makes surgery a very high risk, so Proton Beam Radiation was strongly recommended. It carries an 80% success rate.
When they got this news, seeing what lay ahead, Jeff & his long-time sweetie Shevaun, decided to tie the knot and elope in early October, sealing their commitment to each other and a bright future, through thick & thin.
The big health hurdle ahead. In mid November, Jeff will travel to Massachusetts General Hospital, and undergo a rather unexpected procedure. After a recent thorough exam from his doctor, Jeffrey has learned that he must now undergo two surgeries, accompanied by Proton Beam Radiation. One of those surgeries will be approximately 10 hours long. Due to the size & complexity of his spinal tumor, its necessary. He now faces a delicate Surgery, and an extended hospital recovery period where much of the time will be spent in bed. As a result, his medical expenses have escalated and covering home bills, out-of-pocket expenses while in treatment & recovery in Boston, and for the recovery after returning to Florida have all grown. Shevaun plans to visit him, but even she must maintain her job in the Keys most of the time.
