We have met our goal!!!! Thank you to everyone that has donated! Any extra funds will be used to purchase the case and extra parts for the WalkAide. We will also use extra funds to begin paying off all the medical bills we have continually accrued from leg braces!!! Woooohooo!! God is good. God is great!!! All the time!!
We are just $380 away from our goal!!! And our next appointment is on Monday October 28! We are so close! Please keep reposting this for us on your facebook and thanks again to all of you that have given and shared.
WOW!! We are only $630 away from our goal! How amazing it is when we work together! Your gifts are going to be life changing to Eddie! He is so excited! Last night he walked with a flat foot for over 10 steps! This is the first that I have ever seen him do this! Not many kids get to take their "first steps" twice! Check out the video on Facebook!
Good Morning! We are so close to 90%, which is so close to 100%! We are so excited to be on our way to ordering the Walk Aide for Eddie! For those of you that didn't see the video I posted on Saturday, please check out my Facebook page. I want everyone to see what 1 month of the WalkAide demo has done with Eddie's leg!
We take flexing our foot at the ankle for granted, but Eddie has not been able to independently do this task...EVER. He can do it all by himself now. This means that the device has begun to build strength and reprogram what his paralyzed nerves have been missing!!
Your donations are truly a gift. We are so thankful for your families that have blessed us beyond expectations and measure! Thank you again!
Eddie's little sister Emma really wants to help Eddie raise the last bit of money to meet his goal. Let's see how much we can raise today in honor of Emma's Wacky Tacky outfit she wore for spirit day today!
If you are looking at making a donation today $30 would make our $3000 mark! I am so thankful to everyone for their help fundraising for Eddie. He is such a sweet and special little boy. Thanks for paying it forward.
Good news y'all!! Eddie is still doing awesome with the walkaide!! We go back to the doctor on October 24th. Many people have asked me how long this fundraiser will be online. We did not set a date. So anytime is a good time to donate.
We have felt so much love and support from this fundraiser for Eddie. We are truly blessed beyond measure.
Feeling so thankful this morning as I look at how much we've raised together! Every penny donated by family and friends is such a gracious gift. Eddie understands and appreciates all your support. He is so happy to not wear his leg brace!
Wow friends!! We have so much to be thankful for on this rainy Sunday morning. We have made it to 40% of our goal in just 1 week!! We have people mailing us checks to add to our offline donations also! (I add them into the website manually so you can all see the totals!) We are blessed beyond measure. If you are unable to make a donation please repost this link! If you are interesting in making an offline recognition please message me for my address!!
The walkaide product is amazing. From the moment I saw it I knew it was perfect for him. The leg braces have caused blisters/staph infections and never worked his muscles. We have been spending roughly $3000 a year in the braces, socks, shoes and appointments (this is with insurance). The AFO accomplished its goal but limited Eddies leg muscles from developing. This walkaide is absolutely ground breaking. Eddie is the first pediatric patient to use it successfully in Eastern NC. It has done in 3 weeks more than 5 years of PT and AFO. The other perks... Eddie can wear 2 matching shoes, socks, and it's more discreet than AFOs are. He has started worrying about what people think if his braces. This little device is hardly noticeable even with shorts on.
In the three week demo the circumference of Eddie's left calf muscle has gained 1/4 of an inch. Making the size of his legs almost exactly the same.
Thank you for you help.
I am so proud to announce that together we have raised 25% of our goal for Eddie's WalkAide! It is a wonderful, heartwarming, tear-jerking blessing that so many have donated to our cause! We appreciate everyone's support!
Eddie is seven years old. He was born with cerebral palsy. His left arm and leg are affected. He has worn leg braces for 5 years with minimal change. A new device called the WalkAide provides amazing results for correcting foot drop, a side affect of left side hemiplegia, or hemiparesis. We, along with Eddie's doctors feel that this product is what Eddie needs to be more independent with his disability. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover this product. We are asking for your help to fund this product for our son.
Please check out the site for the WalkAide for more information on the product. It delays the need for heel cord surgery, can retrain the leg muscles and nerves to step correctly, and eliminates costly trips for manual physical therapy. Please also check out www.walkaide.com
