KAOS Sports Foundation: We offer a wide range of sports programs for inner-city youth. We work with girls and boys from 4-15 in Basketball, Baseball, Cheer and Football. K.A.O.S is an acronym for Keeping Adolescents Off the Street. Our teams compete with teams in Illinois as far as Oswego, Addison, and Joliet. They also travel to states such as Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Florida to compete. Unlike the teams we go up against, we don't get a lot of support from businesses, the city, or local politicians. Many of the teams we play against get an average of $25,000 per year in donations and sponsorships, when we average about $1000. We are trying to raise $5000 to cover the rest of the season's referee fees, transportation for our older kids whose parents are not involved, and a scoreboard. How can you play without a scoreboard, really. What we are asking for, is in the lower end of the spectrum. The rest of our ref fees are $1050, a used van that we are trying to purchase is 2k, and a score a will cost us between $2000-3000 that we will use for all sports. Please help us. We currently have over 100 kids for cheer and football. We will be competing in tournaments in November in Memphis, and Florida in December. Basketball starts right at the end of football.
With the crime the way that it is in Chicago, we have to create more options for these kids. If we turn our backs, it will find its way in our backyard.
The yearly goal is $25000, but we have to get through Football Season!
