Self Publishing Children's Literature

Hi,
My name is Joe Redding. Having spent the past 19 years as an educator you can imagine that I have read quite a few books. You might say that literature is a huge passion of mine. I love reading, writing and watching books come alive on the big screen. I am a fan of all genres, from fiction, to non-fiction, biographies, fantasy, fables and especially children's books.
There is such a rich tradition in the field of Children's Literature. We can go back to The Brothers Grimm, who are responsible for many of the "Classics" that are still read today. There is Marc Brown, Robert Munsch, Shell Silverstein, Dr. Seuss or Theo LeSieg as he is also known and my favorite Ezra Jack Keats.This project is my effort to personally add to the history of Children's Literature.

I have created my own book of poetry entitled "No More School:Poems About Summer Vacation". I am editing a short story with a Native American theme and I have recently begun working on the first in a series of books focused on a young African American male student and how his life is changed as he is introduced to inspiring Africans and African Americans throughout history.
