4% GOLD

4% GOLD is a project which empowers mental stimulation and creative expression for pediatric cancer patients. Our mission is to use photography as a way to provide mental curiosity, enhance creativity and express life in their current state of being. Photographers from the Billy Farrell Agency, freelance photographers, as well as students and professors from NYU, will be conducting classes at the Ronald McDonald House weekly. These professionals will teach pediatric cancer patients and family members the technique of photography through framing, composition, lighting, angling, and artistic design. Those families who are directly affected by pediatric cancer will be given cameras to document their personal story. Once complete, a gallery viewing will be held in New York City. This event will display the images telling the story of pediatric cancer.

Fundraising will go towards purchasing equipment to make this project possible (cameras, camera equipment, printing costs, framing, etc). All proceeds from the gallery event will aid in pediatric cancer research and support the Ronald McDonald house. Government funding currently contributes only 4% of funds to pediatric cancer research. With additional fundraising and support, children suffering from this powerful disease will face a brighter future. Their stories will help to expand the public's view of what it really is like to be directly affected by pediatric cancer; inspiring others to become forces in this amazing project.

4% Gold is scheduled to take off on July 16th, 2013!! With the help of you and your communities, this project will be more than what we already expect it to be!

Stay tuned for upcoming website! :)
